This is a method where the electrical activity of the heart is continuously monitored (over 24 hours, sometimes even longer). This method records heart rhythm disorders or electrical impulse conductivity disorders, which cannot be identified by a shorter ECG test. The test itself is harmless.
The patient wears a holder device for 24 hours. The patient should act normally and not refrain from his/her normal activities. After 24 hours the holter is removed and the data are read.
